We have the honor of delving into this space exploration with Dr. Roscoe, astronomer, astrophotographer and NASA Solar System Ambassador. Professor Dennis Roscoe is a guest lecturer at Carroll University, teaches astronomy classes at the New Berlin Parks and Recreation Dept. and gives presentations statewide. For the last 11 years, he has developed a passion for astrophotography and currently owns and operates his own personal observatory. He specializes in the imaging of deep space objects such as nebulae and in May 2014 his images were published in TIME.com.
Dr. Roscoe is going to share the remarkable collaboration between NASA and SpaceX and the pioneering endeavors that aim to place the first human footprints on the enigmatic surface of the Red Planet. Our distinguished guest will unravel the intricacies of this unprecedented venture. He’ll illuminate the path ahead, describing not only the technical marvels underpinning this mission, but also the myriad challenges and perils that await us upon arrival to the Martian frontier. So, fasten your mental seatbelts, as we embark on a captivating exploration and journey to Mars!
Lunch begins at 11:30 AM in River’s Edge Restaurant, Village on the Square. Presentation begins at 12:15 pm. ($15.00/person)
