Lunch & Learn: Milwaukee’s Women in History at Forest Home Cemetery

Join us for a captivating program exploring the extraordinary women who helped shape Milwaukee’s history. Historian, author, and Forest Home Cemetery docent Anita Pietrykowski will share stories of trailblazers such as Mabel Watson Raimey, Elizabeth Plankinton, Alice Chester, and many more who helped influence medicine, philanthropy, social change, and community development.
You’ll also learn about the history of Forest Home Cemetery, founded in 1850 and home to countless individuals who played a role in Milwaukee’s past—including Wisconsin’s first female physician, the women who championed the Soldiers Home, and the founder of Milwaukee’s first animal shelter.
Come enjoy a fascinating and interactive program that brings history to life through storytelling, research, and costumed presentation. You won’t want to miss it!

Lunch Seating begins at 11am in River’s Edge Restaurant.
A free presentation without lunch will be offered in the Holz Pavilion Theater at 2pm. Three Pillars Patrick Nichols will be offering a special presentation on his experience with marathon running.)

Apple Salad
Granny Smith apples, toasted pecans, Feta cheese and red onion. Served over mixed greens with maple vinaigrette.
Shrimp & Grits
White Cheddar grits topped sautéed Gulf shrimp, bacon, scallion, and bell pepper.
Cinnamon Milk Cake
Dairy soaked sponge cake with cinnamon whipped cream and white chocolate.
